Important Information

The Warrior Way

At Pleasant Crossing Elementary, we work hard to show the Warrior Way. This includes 3 very important school and classroom guidelines:

1. Be Responsible

2. Be Respectful

3. Be Safe

It is very important to us at PCES that we build a community of learners who embody these three Warrior Way  attributes: responsible, respectful, and safe.

Classroom Behavior

At Pleasant Crossing, we believe in reinforcing positive behaviors and reteaching undesired behaviors though logical consequences.

Students will receive Warrior Way tickets for responsible, respectful, and safe behaviors. These Warrior Way tickets can be redeemed for rewards ranging from a cost of 5 tickets all the way up to 150 tickets. I love recognizing students for working hard and doing what's right!

In the case that we have undesired behaviors, I will use logical consequences and methods of reteaching. It is important to me that the consequence matches the behavior and that we focus on helping the student learn the desired behavior. This means that consequences will look different depending on the behavior and that we will spend a lot of time reflecting and practicing the Warrior Way.

Snacks and Water Bottles

Our lunch time is at 12:45pm each day and students tend to get hungry before this time. Students are encouraged to bring in a snack to eat each day. Personal snacks will not be allowed to be shared, but if you would like to donate any community snacks to be given out to students without a snack each day, we would really appreciate it! Any donated snacks need to be in individually wrapped packages. We will not be able to share snacks that are not wrapped individually.

It is also encouraged to bring a water bottle every day. Students keeping their own water bottle helps maximize our instructional time since students will not have to leave the room for a drink of water. Please make sure these water bottles have your child's name written clearly on them. Students will be unable to use drinking fountains to refill their water bottles, so you may want to send more than one water bottle.

Restroom Procedures

We will take scheduled whole-class restroom breaks throughout the day. However, that does not mean that students who need to go at other times will be denied that opportunity. Students will be able to use the restroom as needed. Please help us by encouraging your child to wash their hands thoroughly.
